Who are you?

Standard

Last night chatting with family, the subject of our origins came up. Things got a little out there with some of the theories tossed about, but one thing we seemed to agree on was that our planet is Soul-school, where we come for learning and growth. Before we incarnate, we choose what lessons we want to experience, and what emotions we want to feel, for our growth.

It made me think:

  • what does this mean for me?
  • who am I?
  • what lessons am I learning?

These are not new questions for me but topics I like to turn over from time to time. They remind me of a similar conversation I was part of during my travels earlier this year, about reincarnation. I shared an experience where I received a past-life regression with an energy worker, and re-visited earlier “lives” as a young adult and child in this incarnation, before going into previous lifetimes. These visits were quite detailed, and unlike other experiences I had read about, where rapid flashes of past lives are experienced but without in-depth exploration of these incarnations. And the question was asked, So what did this mean to me?

What I came up with was this –

That each time around, I may choose different circumstances. I may be reacting to events in previous lifetimes. I may be in vastly different locations, time periods, often with the same souls. But the external details aren’t really that important. What struck me about my regression was the knowledge that I am the same soul, with the same qualities, traits that may evolve of course, but nevertheless specific to me. I am who I am. I am my own travelling companion, and whatever “lives” I clothe myself with, underneath, I’m still me. And I find that beautiful. I love this life, I really do 🙂
